01  _{Welcome! Stark here, she/her pronouns, though I’m not picky at all since I typically write male muses and I’ll answer to their names/pronouns just fine. I’m 30+ and I’ve been rping since I was 11, so I’ve been around the block a time or two and I’m real low-drama. I work full-time, so I can be low to moderate activity, but I’m always around to chat - discord upon request.}

If I follow you, it means I've read your rules and most if not all of your info on your blog (sometimes I skim if I'm low concentration that day), and it means that I'm interested in writing with you. This is permission to hit me up with asks or send me an IM! I like to keep a clean dash, so I will unfollow sometimes if there's excess OOC chatter being posted, if we haven't interacted after a long period and/or if I come to the conclusion that perhaps our writing wouldn't mesh.}

03  _{I keep a permanent starter call and sometimes post them and open starters just for funsies. If you don't see a starter call or open that you'd like, memes are honestly the best way to get my attention and get something started with me! I make it a point to post them consistently into my queue, and I always turn asks into threads unless you request otherwise or we do a lot of them, in which case I'll just pick a few of them instead of all. You're welcome, of course, to do the same with any I send! My one request is that you specify who you're interested in if you're a multi, even if it's just narrowing it down to a few options.}

04  _{I never really practiced mains and exclusives officially before, but let's be real, we all have our favorites so please see my mains/exclusives list. For me, mains and exclusives come about as very good friends of mine ooc with heavily plotted and beloved characters and stories. Following my blog means you'll see a lot of those people, but unless stated otherwise, seeing me writing with or plotting with another version of your character doesn't mean I won't write/plot with yours, so hit me up! Different interactions for different versions!}

05  _{Plotting is great! Not everyone is into it, and I certainly won't force it on anyone, but my IMs and discord are available for plotting if that's what you're into. In the same token, I'll gladly talk about my character if you'd like more information about her and how I play her, or if you wanna talk about yours! If you're a multi, I still request that you come to me with a few characters you're interested in, if not a full idea. I don't mind talking things through, but when you narrow down a list to a few muses you're most excited for, it really helps me get a feel for what kind of story you're looking for and where to go with ideas.}

06  _{I don't mind if you format or don't, but I only use basic aesthetic formatting myself - small text, icons and a little separator bar in most posts, and I have some banners for asks and the like. If you format to the point that your responses are difficult for me to read, that's another story, but I'm usually not too concerned with it.}

07  _{I ship chemistry, which generally means that I need time playing back and forth to build up some rapport before getting involved in a ship, so I'd prefer it if you didn't try to dive right into something before I'm ready. I like shipping, I love all kinds of relationships (platonic included) and I'll talk out pre-existing relationships so that we don't have to start from scratch on friendships, but it throws me off if our interactions IC go straight to dating when we barely know each other.}

other family members.  martha and john holloway, her paternal grandparents that she lives with in hawkins after the 'mall fire' that killed both of her parents.notable skills.  despite the fact that she never really gave off 'jock' vibes, heather was always an athlete and therefore feats of athleticism are fully within her wheelhouse. dancing and figure skating made her strong physically, but also with a focus on grace and poise - she's not just a blunt instrument, as much as she might feel like one emotionally some days. she's an incredibly strong swimmer between growing up with summers on the lake or at the pool, swim team from the time she was old enough to join and lifeguarding once she was of age for the training - which also came with the benefit of first aid and cpr certifications.abilities.  she doesn't know it yet, but her possession by the mind flayer has made her sensitive to its presence and influence. she's likely to know, whether she realizes what it means immediately or not, when a gate is open. with the dubious benefit of experience, she'll be able to work out some other (probably vague, especially at first) details as to proximity of gates, where the mind flayer's attention is or isn't, and manage what's essentially an early warning system to incoming danger. that is, if she isn't compromised before she can be helpful. always a concern and a fear.

faceclaim.  emmy rossum (alt, primary) // francesca reale (canon)hair.  she has incredibly thick, dark hair with natural volume that she keeps long. it's manageable for ponytails and the like, though she can't just use a scrunchy and hope for the best without it falling out an hour later - it needs a stronger hair band to do the heavy lifting for a prettier hair piece. it's naturally wavy, but takes to curls well and she often styles them in.
eyes.  rich brown and expressive, which doesn't always work in her favor because it makes it harder to auto-pilot her way through social interactions when she's not feeling it. unfortunately after her traumatic experience with the mind flayer, that's a lot more often, and she tends towards the opposite end of the spectrum more often.

build.  lean and athletic from years of swimming, dance and ice skating - which progressed naturally into joining the swim team, lifeguarding in the summer and figure skating.

mental.  before the upside down, heather was a very normal girl from a well-to-do family who fit in well with the 'popular' crowds in school and her hometown. she was involved in sports, dated just enough to ride that awful line between 'slut' and 'prude', and managed a similar balancing act between a generally sweet disposition and 'mean girl' reputation that came with the crowd she was friends with. she was the popular girl that was nicer when you caught her without the other girls around.after the upside down and her possession by the mind flayer, everything changed. she has nightmares and issues sleeping, but even in her waking hours, she can't help thinking of the nightmare she experienced and all that she lost as a result of it. she's making attempts to move on and heal, but she's struggling to cope with a return to something resembling normalcy - she can't find it in herself to care about so much of what used to matter to her, and she's angry, afraid or some combination of the two often. For a girl who was never really known for her temper, she's quick to snap nowadays.physical.  heather was a healthy kid growing up, athletic and energetic, but her brush with the mind flayer wasn't kind - and she got incredibly lucky. her parents consumed chemicals from the moment the mind flayer took them, but heather's exposure was minimal - not intended as fodder for the beast's physical form, but as a helper who still needed her strength to forcibly recruit new bodies to its thrall and in case of a run in with the monster's enemies. even so, the exposure she suffered caused irritation in her airways, lungs and esophagus even after the mind flayer's influence had passed. she doesn't trust the doctors who tended to her in the immediate aftermath, but the extensive flush of every part of her system that they could manage likely did her some favors. she's developed a type of asthma - reactive airways dysfunction syndrome (rads) from the exposure, and treats it with nebulizer use at home as well as a portable inhaler as needed. understandably, this has impacted her ability to be on the swim team in her senior year and while she could probably work through it, she doesn't care enough to try.her sleep has also been heavily impacted, and though she does have sleeping pills to help with it, every night is a war between the need to rest and the fear of being incapacitated if the monsters came back. her sense of smell and taste have also been affected long-term, making some flavors and scents unappetizing.fears & phobias.  no actual phobias, but she's developed a fear of deep darkness, particularly if it's cool and damp. she's afraid of other people trying to overpower or hurt her, and she's taken to reacting aggressively if she feels at all threatened or simply exiting the area, if it looks bad enough. she fears a lack of control over herself after having been possessed and forced to do terrible things, and she knows all too well that she can't control other people (and wouldn't want to), but it makes her hyper-aware of her surroundings and anything the people in her presence are doing.drug use.  sleeping pills, some pot occasionally but it irritates her breathing. medications include inhalers and nebulizer treatments at home.
alcohol use.  occasional, but she keeps it to a light buzz because she can't stand the idea of being unable to defend herself or escape a bad situation.
diet.  her appetite is not what it used to be, and though it's not at any dangerous stage, she's lost weight and hasn't gained it back. her sense of smell and taste being affected by the chemical exposure has made some foods smell and taste bad, and sometimes all it takes is a whiff of the wrong kind of smell to put her off. she leans more into fruits, vegetables, rice and fish, but other foods can be good, depending on how they're prepared.

Following the canon set out in her dossier. Heather survived the Mind Flayer as one of its 'lieutenants', necessary for recruiting new bodies to its ranks and better at maintaining her 'cover' as herself as the first that was taken by its host. She's been orphaned, traumatized and is very much not the person she was when the summer started, but she lived and she's ready to make that someone else's problem.
